Doncaster Breakfast Meeting: Work effectively with Schools
The demand for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) skills in the UK has reached a critical point. Together we can invest in the workforce of the future; raising young people’s skills, aspirations and knowledge of STEM careers.
STEM enables young people to develop their creativity, problem-solving and employability skills, widens their choices and supports the UK’s future competiveness. Using STEM Ambassadors from a diverse range of organisations awareness is raised, enabling young people of all backgrounds and abilities to meet inspiring role models, understand real world applications of STEM subjects and experience hands-on STEM activities that motivate and bring learning to life.
This meeting will be run by the STEM Ambassador Hub, with the aim to bring together current and potential STEM Ambassadors and employers from the Doncaster area to discuss how local businesses and STEM Ambassadors can engage more effectively with local schools to improve the lives of young people.
Following a complimentary breakfast & refreshments, the meeting will be made up of two parts; an introduction for potential businesses and STEM Ambassadors about the STEM Ambassador programme and why it’s so important, featuring a couple of key note presenters, followed by a series of interactive workshops allowing you the opportunity to experience some activities commonly used to interact with young people.
The meeting will finish at 10.30 am and there will be time available at the end for open networking to meet active STEM Ambassadors, other STEM businesses in the area, and teachers from local schools interested in utilising the STEM Ambassador programme.
Free parking is available at the venue
