Join us for a day of hands-on learning with three unique Folk School classes at Folklore Village.

Introduction to Blacksmithing with Greg Winz
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Learn the basics of blacksmithing, including lighting and tending a coal forge, using hammers and tongs, and shaping hot metal on the anvil. Students will make a simple post hook and a heart-shaped wall hook while gaining foundational forging skills.

Registration: $90 through June 25 ($100 after June 25)
Materials Fee: $3 paid directly to the instructor

Baltic Cooking with Tricia Cornell
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Explore the cuisines of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania through traditional recipes and cooking techniques. Participants will make rye bread, cold beet soup (šaltibarščiai), and savory pastries while learning about Baltic food traditions and flavors.

Registration: $90 through June 25 ($100 after June 25)
Materials Fee: $45 paid directly to the instructor

Needle Felting with Jaroslava Sobiskova
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Discover the art of needle felting and create your own woodland animal from wool. This beginner-friendly class covers basic shaping, layering, and detailing techniques. All tools and materials are provided.
