You are warmly invited to this year's Homeschool Formal - BLOOM on March 21, 2026. BLOOM is a formal night created for homeschool teens to gather, dance, and enjoy a meaningful, joy-filled experience in a beautiful setting. Join us for a night of music, friendship, laughter, and elegance at The Barn at Heritage Farms—an evening thoughtfully planned to be memorable, uplifting, and truly special.

Event Details:

• Who: Homeschoolers ages 14–19
• Students may bring one age-appropriate guest (homeschooled or not)

When:

• 6:00–10:00 PM
• Check-in begins at 5:45 PM (doors open at 6:00PM)

Where:

• The Barn at Heritage Farms

Dobson, NC

What’s Included:

• Heavy hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening
• Professional DJ
• Professional photographer (candid + studio-style photos)
• Blackheart Photo Both

Tickets:

• One ticket per attendee (price is per student, not per couple)
• Ticket sales close March 6, 2026

Event Attire:

FORMAL REQUIRED

The purpose of this dress code is to teach and prepare young teens for formal events they will encounter in adulthood. This evening is meant to model dignity, appropriateness, and respect for the occasion.

Parents, we are honored to partner with you in guiding students during these important years. If you have questions about attire, please don’t hesitate to reach out before the event.

Appropriate Attire

Young Men

• Tuxedo or suit
• Dress shirt (button-down, collared)
• Optional: suit jacket, dinner jacket, vest, or tie

Young Women

• Modest, formal gown
• Dresses must be knee-length or longer
• Straps are strongly encouraged
• Slits must be sewn or pinned closed to the knee or below

Not Permitted

• Costumes of any kind (historical, themed, gothic, cosplay, etc.)
• Casual wear (t-shirts, polos, jeans, casual pants, pullovers)
• Pantsuits or dress slacks for young women
• Two-piece dresses exposing the midriff
• Plunging necklines, excessive cleavage, or sheer bodices
• Cut-outs around the bodice
• Open backs extending below the waistline

Important: Clothes will not be altered or modified at the event to meet dress code.

Any student arriving in inappropriate attire will be required to return home to change.

Photos of appropriate attire and past events will be provided for reference.

Photography:

• Parents may enter briefly to take photos, but may not remain indoors unless assigned as a chaperone.
• A professional photographer will capture both candid and posed photos.
• Photo pricing and ordering details will be emailed prior to the event.

Behavior & Expectations

All attendees are expected to conduct themselves with respect and courtesy, including appropriate dancing and care of the facility. Students not meeting these expectations will be spoken to once. Continued issues will result in removal from the event.

When registering, please include:

• Each student’s full name
• County Your Homeschool Is Registered in for NC / Group or Coop for VA Residents
• Homeschool name

Students are responsible for ensuring their guest has read and understands all expectations and dress code requirements.
