Dark powers stir beneath the Blood Moon, and those who gather in the fortress of Dragon’s Bane may yet hear the call of the Wild Hunt.

An Indoor Overnight Festival of Fear and Fellowship

CER Midwest’s Halloween Event returns for its 14th season, now hosted indoors at the Granny Rose Canine Center in Dixon, Illinois.
This fully immersive overnight LARP experience combines mystery, ritual, and revelry in a single great hall.
Join us for a weekend of story, combat, feasting, and eerie late-night encounters as we celebrate survival and defiance in the long winter’s approach.

Open to new and veteran LARPers as well as friends and curious onlookers, the festival runs Friday evening through Sunday noon.
Public hours extend from Friday 6 PM through Saturday 7 PM, after which the event becomes a members-only 18+ overnight.

Friday Evening – The King’s Feast
Camp setup and fellowship

The Murderous Affair mystery begins

Saturday Morning – Trials of Skill
Group breakfast (included with meal ticket)
Warm-up and combat tournament
Public trials and games

Saturday Night – The Ritual of Blood and Shadow
At dusk the gates close. The simulated night begins and the story turns dark.
Main campaign and boss encounter
Mock ritual and ceremony
Echoform Assassin promo card distribution

Sunday Morning – Parting Blessings
War council
Closing ceremony
Pack-up and farewell (noon departure)

What to Bring

Because we are indoors this year, pack for comfort and immersion rather than weather survival.
Bring a freestanding tent or privacy divider (no stakes), a sleeping bag, cot, or inflatable mattress, battery-powered lantern or colored lighting for our 7 PM to 7 AM simulated night, snacks and water, garb or armor for daytime play, formal feast attire for Friday night, basic hygiene items, and chargers for your devices (limited outlets).

No open flames, staking, or personal fires or propane heaters are allowed.

Ages 16 and up to play, 18 and up for overnight hours
Responsible BYOB for ages 21 and older
No marijuana or illegal substances
All players must sign a waiver before participation
Combat is boffer only, no metal weapons

The Spirit of the Feast

We retell the tales of seasons past and prepare for the coming of Dwarveser, a time of thanks, remembrance, and resilience.
Attendees are encouraged to wear dark or muted tones, accented with symbols of death or protection.
Traditional Northbourne blue and gold remain the colors of unity.

Come share in the feast, face the dark, and test your courage beneath the Blood Moon, for when the torches fade and the hall falls silent, the Wild Hunt rides again.
