What is Intellectual Property Law? (Sushi)

The IP/IT Law Club and the Law Careers Office are co-hosting the annual IP law career panel on February 27th during lunch in Room 158. If you are curious about law related to intellectual property, start-ups, and technology, especially in Victoria and Vancouver, this is a perfect opportunity to meet practicing lawyers from these areas.

We will have Michael Cooper, Nelson Godfrey, Shannon Davidson, and Todd Rattray joining us.

Michael Cooper is an experienced IP lawyer and a partner at Thompson Cooper in Victoria. Michael has extensive experience in intellectual property law, including in the transfer and licensing of patents, trademarks and copyright.

Nelson Godfrey is an associate at Gowlings in Vancouver with particular experience in contentious disputes in all areas of intellectual property, including trademarks, patents, copyright, and industrial designs.

Shannon Davidson is an associate at Osler in Vancouver. She practices corporate law with a specific focus on the technology sector and advises a wide range of clients, especially start-ups.

Todd Rattray is a partner at Oyen Wiggs. His practice focuses on providing intellectual property advice to members of the Pacific Northwest’s science and technology community. His areas of experience include preparation and prosecution of US, Canadian and international patent applications as well as technology transfer and licensing negotiations and agreements.

Sushi will be provided by the Law Careers Office!
