Basic Box Making Workshop - Deborah Parker

Learn the basics of building a box from scratch and wrapping it with the beautiful decorated Japanese chiyogami paper. With a few supplies, tools and materials in this class, we’ll create a box with a lid. This class provides you with the opportunity to learn many of the fundamental techniques which you can use at home to make more boxes like this or different sizes of boxes. A great place to start, before moving onto advanced box making projects.

Price includes the main supplies: cardboard, paper, including Japanese handmade paper and specialty glue. Additionally the students will be asked to bring their personal supplies (scissors, ruler etc.) The full list will be sent to you after the registration.

"I have been exploring all kinds of hobbies and crafts throughout the years. As a teenager, I started out with drawing, needlepoint, beading, knitting etc.. In the early 90’s, I had a rubber stamp store and taught classes for 4 years. I developed a passion for the paper arts and anything to do with it. I fell in love with the chiyogami Japanese paper, after making my first box and taking bookbinding classes. I look forward to combining my crafts and hobbies especially in mixed media projects."
