There will be a maximum of 20 people in total, most of which are new faces each time. The aim is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their lives. They offer a safe and friendly space for people to come together and have open conversations about death, dying and grief. The discussions are led by the people present, and they have no agenda or direction. Each death cafe is entirely unique and it is very often a room filled with diverse topics. They are light-hearted, supportive and often filled with momenrs of joy as well as more mellow moments in a room full of people who are empathetic and understanding.They are a not-for-profit initiative, and the hosting cafe are also a registered charity who do not charge for their venue hire.
