The D’Iberville Historical Society will host its 4th annual Old Town Village Tour on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the newly refurbished D’Iberville Town Green, 10004 Central Avenue.

Each year, the City of D'Iberville displays the collection of replicas at the town green along Central Avenue during the holiday season. Retired city employee Ralph Borries is credited with handcrafting the original twenty replicas. Dale Greenwell, the society's founding president, worked closely with Borries to ensure the historical integrity of each replica. After Borries retired, city employee Tony Perkins took the helm and has since unveiled two new replicas including The People's Bank D'Iberville-St. Martin Branch in 2023 and the R. Fournier (pronounced FOOn-yay) & Son Seafood factory in 2024.

This free, self-guided tour goes from 11:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. Local descendants and community volunteers will share stories and artifacts for some of the replicas.

Society leaders believe visitors and residents will learn something new about the ‘old history’ of a 'young city' by taking this tour.

“This is the perfect way to reminisce on beloved establishments from the Five Points area, which we know today to be Central Avenue at Racetrack Road, to Doris' Hot Tamales, which remains a staple in the Gateway City," said Society President Keith Wilson.

Admission is free and refreshments will be served, but monetary donations will be accepted by volunteers in exchange for an event program to help fund additional historical society projects.
