“LaTeX Workshop: Mastering the Art of Academic and Research Writing”
Are you someone who seeks to create professional, publication-ready documents with perfect structure, equations, and formatting? In today’s academic and research world, LaTeX has become an essential skill for students, researchers, and professionals who aim to produce high-quality reports, papers, and theses.
Recognising the importance of mastering this powerful tool, the IEEE NSU Industry Applications Society Student Branch Chapter is organising a hands-on workshop titled “LaTeX Workshop: Mastering the Art of Academic and Research Writing” on 15th October 2025. The purpose of this event is to provide participants with a practical understanding of LaTeX and its applications in academic and research writing.
For this insightful session, we will be joined by Md Shahidullah Kaiser, an incredible researcher completing both his PhD & MSc from The University of Osaka, Japan. Dr Kaiser’s research focuses on Wave Energy Converter, Control Theory, and Ocean Wave Prediction, and he has extensive experience in academic writing and technical documentation. He brings a great deal of knowledge to academia. Not to mention, Dr. Kaiser was one of the few students receiving the prestigious MEXT Scholarship (fully funded by the Japanese government). He holds his B.Sc. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He served as a ‘Teaching Fellow’ at the University of Osaka as well. Completed his research Internship at the National Maritime Research Institute, Tokyo, Japan, and was also a part of Research Collaborator at Osaka Metropolitan University.
We believe that participants will gain valuable skills and insights from this session, helping them enhance the quality and professionalism of their academic work. Our speakers' expertise in LaTeX aims to guide participants through the effective implementation of this helpful tool for reports, theses, and research papers.
