- **Event Description**: From Data to Decisions: An R-Powered Workshop is a software training session set to take place on 29th and 30th October 2025. This 2-day-long workshop will be conducted by industry experts specializing in R, Econometrics and Data analytics. Tamim Ahmed (Senior Research Associate, CPD) and Mahadee Al Mobin (Research Associate, BIGM) will be conducting the sessions.

This workshop will cover R and RStudio fundamentals, introducing arithmetic operators, logical expressions, common functions, vector and matrix operations, using conditional statements such as Do Loops, IF, For and While, familiarizing them with built-in packages, data management in R, probability distributions in R, data visualization, and descriptive statistics. 

R is currently widely used by students as well as researchers in the domains of social science and business for research, modeling, problem-solving, and decision-making outside of the realm of econometrics solely. For the workshop, some prior knowledge of basic statistics is required.

In addition to its pivotal significance for economics students, the course would be of tremendous value and usability to students from several other academic fields who are interested in Data Science and Data Analytics.
