BANGLADESH-JAPAN TRAINING INSTITUTE (BJTI) is going to organize an Online INTERNATIONAL Training on "Enhancing Work Place Capability"
Mr. B. Palaniappan (from India), Director, Quality & Productivity Initiative, ABK-AOTS Dosokai Tamil Nadu Centre, Chennai; &TQM, Lean, TPM Consultant
Mr. Balakrishnan Palaniappan is a result oriented professional with 40+ years of experience in manufacturing industries – namely Ashok Leyland Ltd, PSG Industrial Institute, Lucas TVS Ltd, Rane Brake Linings Ltd, Regent Power tech and Michelin Tyres, India. Initial 12 years he was in manufacturing which is a foundation on which he built the remaining 25 years in HR and Business excellence -TQM, Lean, TPM and TEI. Last 5 years has been associated with industries as consultant in the areas of TQM, Lean, TPM, Quality since 2016.
He holds a Master degree in Production technology, Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Training & Development and Diploma in Labor Law and Administrative law.
He completed one month program on TQM in Japan conducted by AOTS. He was fortune to trained by as well as work with Japanese consultants – Prof Washio, Mr. Ando, Mr. Tsuda on TQM, Mr. Yamaguchi, Mr. Susumu Takahashi on TPM, Mr. Hirano, Mr. Yoshida, Mr. Takahashi on Lean.
Lead and Implemented TQM, Lean and TPM in Lucas TVS, Rane Brake lining. Both the companies are Deming prize and Deming Grand prize won companies.
He is life member in professional bodies – Quality Circe Forum of India, National Institution for Quality and Reliability, Indian Society for Training and Development. He was the past Chairman of QCFI Chennai Chapter.
He is actively associated with CII (Confederation of Indian Industries) – Southern Region and ABK-AOTS Tamil Nadu Centre. He is one of the 5S lead assessor for CII, ABK AOTS. He is a well-known and respected jury in State and National level QCC, QIT conventions and 5S audits.
At AOTS Peru, South America shared the experience of the success stories of Indian companies in Implementing 5S. Also conducted training sessions for BJTI as well Chittagong AOTS.
Currently he works with Automobile, auto component, tyre and fertilizer companies as a consultant in the areas of TQM, Quality, Lean and TPM.
Enhancing Work Place Capability
In today’s pandemic situation everything is changing. New normal is the order of the day. People do not look for comfort, salary hike, perks etc. All they need is to be alive tomorrow. People do many things to counter the situation.
Hence in this competitive world and the volatile economy the organizations are under constant pressure. Increasing the satisfaction of the existing customers and stakeholders as well focus on the new customers through effective strategy, cost effectiveness, productivity and process improvement have proved essential for the organizations to stay in the business.

Enhancing Workplace Capability (EWC) for Employee and Employer describe the required skills, knowledge or attitudes for a given task used to evaluate an employee's effectiveness. Capabilities are arranged into a structure that combines several job roles and the needed competencies to be possessed by the job holder in implementing the task effectively. Workplace capabilities are adopted in big companies with the aim of creating a fair and consistent model to employee development and engagement; The principles help small companies to focus on operational performance.
