An 8-Class Intensive Workshop for Emerging Documentary Storytellers

Drishya Karkhana invites applications for an intensive workshop designed for filmmakers, journalists, and visual storytellers who want to develop strong documentary ideas and learn how to turn them into compelling proposals.

Through guided discussions, practical exercises, and collaborative feedback, participants will explore different approaches to documentary research, story development, and proposal writing. Each participant will work on developing their own documentary project while learning how to prepare essential materials required for pitching and development.

Instructor: Farid Ahmad 

(Farid Ahmad is an independent filmmaker and media professional with a decade of experience in television programming. Currently serving as the Artistic Director of Liberation DocFest Bangladesh, he curates film programs centered on human rights and the struggle for liberation. A postgraduate in Media Studies, Farid is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents, the IDA Getting Real Fellowship, American Film Showcase Doc Residency, FIFDH Impact Lab, and the SSP Asia Fellowship. Beyond directing, he has led various filmmaking labs, including the Exposition of Young Film Talents, ‘Sultana’s Dream: Styles, Perspectives & Aspirations’, Creative Documentary Filmmaking Workshop and LDFB Documentary Fieldwork.)
