Hey changemakers! Ready to tackle one of our nation’s biggest challenges?
As seismic activities are rising globally, Bangladesh finds itself at the forefront of earthquake risk due to its unique geographic location and various underlying factors. But here’s the good news: You can be part of the solution! Because this year, the Department of Disaster Management and Resilience, supported by the BUP Disaster Management Forum (BUPDMF), proudly presents Disaster Management Exercise 4.0 (DMX 4.0).
After the remarkable journey of DMX 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0, DMX 4.0 aims to bring together enthusiastic students from different universities across the nation. This year’s program will feature the well-known Tabletop Exercise (TTX) as an Inter-University National Case Competition, alongside the Poster Presentation on Earthquake Resilience, pushing participants to innovate and collaborate on effective strategies to reduce earthquake risks in Bangladesh. Especially in densely populated cities like Old Dhaka and Chittagong, where the anticipated risk of a major quake is much higher.
To confront the possible risks, DMX 4.0 is set to bring together students for an engaging two-day program featuring expert-led panel discussions and immersive tabletop exercises (TTX), where they’ll explore innovative solutions to strengthen Bangladesh’s earthquake preparedness and response. By identifying gaps, proposing actionable strategies, and shaping policy ideas, participants will not only contribute to building resilience in vulnerable cities but also grow as collaborative, confident leaders for the nation’s future
This two day exercise will be held from 23 & 24 September 2025 (Tuesday & Wednesday). It will elevate the student’s relations and cooperation through capacity building.
