- **Event Description**: The DeWitt Ox Roast Royalty Contest empowers young individuals, ages 4–19, by helping them build confidence and develop essential life skills through a positive and enriching event experience. Our mission is to provide an inclusive platform that supports personal growth, encourages creativity, talent (optional), and promotes the values of leadership, kindness, and community engagement. By celebrating individuality and achievement, we aim to inspire participants to become role models who positively contribute to the DeWitt area community.

Eligibility: 
All individuals, ages 4–19, who live in or are enrolled in the DeWitt Public School District, are encouraged to enter the 2026 DeWitt Ox Roast Royalty Contest! 
Age-Category Titleholders will serve as DeWitt Ox Roast Ambassadors, proudly representing the DeWitt Ox Roast and the community at a variety of local events and activities throughout the year.

Who: 
Anyone 4-19 years of age (as of August 10, 2026) attending or residing in the DeWitt School District. Maximum of 10 entrants for each age category.

Age Categories:
-  Little Royal (4 years through 7 years old)
-  Youth Royal (8 years through 11 years old)
-  Junior Royal (12 years through 15 years old) and
-  Royal Ambassador (16 years through 19 years old)

Title holders will receive cash AWARDS!! 


Fees:
-  $25 Entrance Fee for all participants
-  $10 Additional Fee for those participating in the Optional Talent competition
($5 suggested donation for each adult attending the event on August 11, 2026)

Where: DeWitt Middle School Auditorium

When:
* Monday August 10, 2026: Mandatory workshop / rehearsal
* Tuesday August 11, 2026: Individual Interview, On-stage introduction with Outfit of Choice, Live Question & Answer with Formal Wear, and an Optional Talent Competition
* Saturday August 15, 2026: DeWitt Ox Roast Parade Participation

Scoring & Judging:
* Each section of the DeWitt Ox Roast Royality contest is judged on a 10-point scale.
* Judging will focus on each participant’s demonstration of personality, charm, poise, posture, and overall confidence during the interview and their time on stage.
* The judges on the Royalty and Talent panels will be adults with no ties or involvement with the DeWitt area community. This will offer each participant the opportunity without impartiality and will minimize the potential
for bias or favoritism.

Titleholders will receive at minimum:
* Certificate of participation.
* Age-Category Titleholders will receive a Sash, Tiara/Crown, and Flowers
* Talent Titleholders will receive a sash and flowers.
* Possible financial scholarships

After the DeWitt Ox Roast: Participation by titleholders is expected at the DeWitt Homecoming Parade & the DeWitt Christmas Market Parade, Appearance at DeWitt Christmas Tree Lighting and other community events, as schedule permits.
