Join us at Home Hill to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026 with an inspiring afternoon of conversation, connection and reflection. 

The event will feature a talk by Alyssia Kennedy, our Young Australian of the Year for Tasmania, whose work and lived experience reflects the power of young women driving positive change in their communities. 

Following the talk, guests are invited to enjoy a casual afternoon tea and take the opportunity to look around Home Hill, the former family home of Joseph Lyons and Dame Enid Lyons, one of Australia’s most significant women.

Home Hill provides a fitting setting to acknowledge the achievements of women past and present, and to reflect on the ongoing journey toward equality.

Time: 1.15pm - 3.00pm (guests are invited to arrive at 1.15 for a 1.30 start)

Alyssia Kennedy is a Tasmanian professional dedicated to empowering young people with essential life skills. Recognising a gap in traditional education regarding practical knowledge, she founded the Life After School program. This initiative offers interactive workshops in local schools, teaching students’ vital skills such as budgeting, car expenses and changing a tyre, and taxation. Alyssia's motivation stems from her own experiences post-school, where she felt unprepared for adulthood. She aims to prevent others from feeling similarly unprepared. Alyssia was recently named the 2026 Young Australian of the Year for Tasmania.
