Water transforms Norwest Gallery into a confluence of painting, fibers, sculpture, collage, drawing, and spatial audio that treats water as medium, archive, and shared commons. Extending Doug Jones’ recent projects, the exhibition maps ritual, memory, pleasure, migration, infrastructure, and home, linking Detroit’s waterways to wider currents, and proposes form as an ethical practice for imagining futures shaped by flow, and for reimagining histories, both individual and shared, that leave us in their wake.
