The group’s repertoire is entirely made up of original compositions by all four members which serve as springboards for improvised expeditions into the unknown; showcasing the tight communication, adventurous attitude, and shared musical vocabulary of the group. As trumpeter Tim Hagans notes: “It is a joy to listen to these four musicians engage in inspired conversation. The telepathy and empathy is heard throughout… They are musical brothers with a remarkable spirit and common vision.” Simply put, in an era of hired guns, star soloists, and lab-grown supergroups, Signal Quartet is a BAND.
