In memory of our son MJ (Michael Junior), who was born into heaven on November 2, 2019, we started a Toy Drive in his memory to keep his legacy alive through bringing joy to children in need each holiday season. We invite you to come as you are with your family, drop a toy under the tree, meet Santa Clause, and have a drink and a snack. All toys will be dropped off to Mott Children’s Hospital for their Christmas store which is accessible to the families who stay at Mott over the holidays. What Is Music Therapy?Palliative Care, alongside other medical teams in the hospital system, focuses on improving the quality of life of patients with chronic and/or terminal diseases. Palliative Care’s holistic approach focuses on patient comfort that includes reducing pain and nausea, minimizing hospital stays, and supporting the emotional needs of the child and family.Music Therapy helps patient and families in so many ways. It brings light to the darkest days. It helps cope with hospitalization, relax and refocus from pain, decreases anxiety and stress, helps children cope and express feelings, be creative, cope with rests and procedures, bond with family and caregivers, experience positive interactions and much more. Music Therapy can also record your child’s heartbeat and make it into a song, a gift that you can listen to forever.What to expect:Come as you are, drop in when you can with your family and drop a toy under the tree!
