- **Event Description**: Slow Stitch's Fashion Design Lab is a small group 4 wk series class for ages 8–10 to learn sewing & to express themselves through fashion.About this EventSlow Stitch Detroit Youth Fashion Design LabA weekly, student-centered design lab where young makers turn ideas into wearable art. Students learn fashion drawing, pattern basics, hand and machine sewing, and garment construction using upcycled and sustainable materials. Guided by professional designers, each student develops projects at their own pace while building real technical skills. We have classes for 3 age groups: 8-10, 11-14, 14-18. Class size limited to 7 students.APRIL THEME: CREATIVITY WITH FABRICS!!! Tuesdays in April: 7, 14, 21, 28 (4-5:30pm). This ticket is bought as ONE bundle (4 dates, total cost of $95, works out to be $24 per class)During April's theme of "Creativity with Fabrics/Materials" kids will learn about different types of textiles & fiber to work with to develop their fashions.  They'll learn some new techniques like weaving, crochet, bio-textiles, and printing/painting on fabric.  We'll talk about how our fabric choices affect the environment and give them a chance to learn about the concept of circular textiles and the creativity and fun that can emerge using what's already in circulation.  Tenacity Craft is right across the street.
