Each Session is 55 mins and topics include: 9:30a - Mental Health Bootcamp: Life can sometimes take the thermostat and turned up the heat on mental health. In this presentation, the participants will be educated on the difference between Mental Health, Mental Illness, and then how to recognize Serious Mental Illness (SMI). We then discuss symptoms associated with three common SMIs: Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Major Depression and how to respond to crises associated with each one.10:30a - Establishing Boundaries: What should I know about my own personal boundaries? How why are they important in the workplace, community, and relationships? Establishing Boundaries helps participants understand healthy and unhealthy boundaries. They will learn that boundaries are more than personal space; they can be sexual, emotional, and physical. It can be uncomfortable to set boundaries, but this presentation/training equips participants with he tools to be confident in doing so.11:30a - Motivational Interviewing: Motivational Interviewing is a person-centered approach that helps people create their personal goals and work through their own ambivalence in achieving them. In this training, the participants will be educated in the basic tasks, spirit, and process of motivational interviewing. They will then be taught basic skills that are paramount to the principles of Motivational Interviewing then given the chance to practice them.1:30p - ACEs/Trauma: Learn about the impact of adverse childhood experiences and how to provide trauma-informed peer support. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can have negative, lasting effects on health, well-being, and opportunity. These exposures can disrupt healthy brain development, affect social development, compromise immune systems, and can lead to substance misuse and other unhealthy coping behaviors. Creating and sustaining safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments for all children and families can prevent ACEs and help all children, as well as adults, reach their full health and life potential. Learn about the impact of ACEs and how to be a trauma-informed peer.2:30p - Naloxone Training: Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, data connected to the opioid crisis, and how to administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone Participants do not need to attend all sessions.
