1. Movement Music Festival

The festival showcases famous Detroit techno artists like Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson, and DJ Minx, along with new and well-known electronic music artists. The Movement Music Festival in Detroit, Michigan, happens every Memorial Day weekend and is one of the oldest dance music festivals in the world. It features over 110 acts on 6 stages over 3 days and attracts over 100,000 people yearly. The 2024 lineup includes Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati, Nicole Moudaber, James Blake, Solomun, Chris Lake, Dom Dolla, and Fatboy Slim.


2. Detroit Foodie Fair

The Detroit Foodie Fair is happening on September 22, 2024, at Shed 5 in Eastern Market. This event celebrates local food culture with a mix of delicious bites and unique food goods from Detroit and nearby areas. The Detroit Foodie Fair from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and is free to attend with free parking. Visitors can also enjoy the Detroit Vegan Festival, which takes place at the same time, and vote for Detroit’s Best Foodie Find. The fair promises a fun and tasty experience for everyone!


3. SOUL FOOD: THE R&B PICNIC + FESTIVAL

The Hour Detroit Food and Wine Festival is a popular culinary event held annually in Detroit, Michigan, at Huntington Place. Here people can explore delicious food samples prepared by top chefs, enjoy tastings from over 150 wine, beer, and spirits options, and listen to live music and DJs. The SOUL FOOD: THE R&B PICNIC FESTIVAL also features exhibitor booths showcasing Detroit's vibrant culinary scene and offers scenic views of the Detroit Riverfront.


4. Motor City Mask festival

The Motor City Mask Festival is set for September 28, 2024, at 14500 E 12 Mile Rd, Warren, Michigan. This festival celebrates creativity and artistry through masks, featuring a variety of activities and attractions. Attendees can join mask-making workshops led by experienced artists, explore art exhibits showcasing masks from local and regional artists, and enjoy live music and performances that incorporate mask-wearing. Vendor booths will offer handmade masks, art, and crafts, and there will be family-friendly activities for all ages. The Motor City Mask Festival promises a vibrant celebration of creativity and community, inviting everyone to explore the art of mask-making and enjoy a day of artistic expression.


5. The Ribs R&B Music Festival Weekend

This three-day event features tasty BBQ from over 100 vendors, including grilled lamb chops, seafood, and vegan options. The Ribs R&B Music Festival Weekend is set for August, at Hart Plaza in Detroit. The festival is free to attend during specific hours: Friday from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM; after these times, it's $15, with free admission for kids under 12. Enjoy live music on two stages with more than 40 acts, including gospel, soul, and jazz performances. There's also a DJ lounge with popular DJs and a special celebration of 50 years of hip hop on August 11.
