It's no secret that Belle Isle Park is one of the city's finest gems. A city park since the 1880's, Bell Isle became Michigan's 102nd State Park in 2014. Recently, the island was named the most visited State Park in Michigan.
On this bus tour, we will visit the historic Belle Isle Conservatory, the Scott Fountain and learn more about the Belle Isle Conservancy, the group that is largely responsible for preservation, fundraising, and improvements to the island. We will also hop off the bus to walk through some of Belle Isle's natural wooded areas, taking a closer look at the plants and animals native to the island.
The tour starts promptly at 12pm. Please allow yourself a sufficient amount of time to find parking and arrive at the starting location.
With the nature walk portion, this tour includes a larger amount of walking than our normal walking tours, so please wear comfortable walking shoes.
