Directed by Sam Raimi, following up on the massive success of his Spider-Man films, this supernatural morality tale was a return to the director’s beginnings. With all the goopy, nasty, and campy fun of Raimi’s seminal Evil Dead films, Drag Me To Hell is a new low-budget horror classic that blends old horror staples like Romani curses with contemporary ethical questions. Escapism and social commentary, tropes and fresh takes, thrills and laughs, practical effects and CGI combine for one good time at the movies.
