National African-American Read-In hosted event! This is our third year on the national registry in collaboration with the National Council of Teachers of English. This initiative is a groundbreaking effort to encourage communities to read together, centering A-A books and authors. It was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English and has reached more than 6 million participants around the world. Read your story, poem or song written by a legendary African-American writer from the past that focuses on the Black experience. This is a public reading created to amplify Black literature, culture, experiences, history and comprehension. Programming starts at 1pm.
