                "description": "I have been involved with the gymnastic community since 1984.  I started gymnastics in 5th grade with a broken arm which I sustained in a monkey bar incident!  Mary Lou Retton had just won the gold medal and I wanted to be just like her... I think my mother decided formal lessons would be a good idea after the my creative dismount on the playground ;)  I was a competitive gymnast for the next decade and immediately and seemlessly transitioned into coaching.  I have coached all ages and levels of gymnastics both men's and women's.  When my own children retired from competition I retired from coaching... for a hot minute until I stumbled upon a strange and wonderous little world of functional fitness.  My home box of Oakland County CrossFit invited me and encouraged me to take the CF Gymnastics seminar. Although I was already hooked on the \"kool-aid\" that weekend would open my eyes to a new avenue of coaching gymnastics.  I joined the CFG team shortly after and spent 2 years traveling the world and sharing my 30 plus years of gymnastics with eager athletes.  I have had the priveledge of coaching amazing games athletes like Carla Nunes-DeCosta, Pamela Gagnon, Brandon Phillips, Michelle Kinney, Kevin Montoya and Sam Briggs...  I look forward to getting inverted with you!!! We will work hard and have fun!!!"
