Session Overview

This session is designed for small business owners, real estate developers, and property managers who are planning for long-term success, stability, and ownership. Through a single, unified session, participants will hear from expert speakers representing different areas of the ecosystem, business operations, development, and property management, covering what it takes to sustain and grow operations beyond the startup or acquisition phase.

Speakers will share insights on:

  • Building reliable teams and managing operations efficiently
  • Managing tenants, properties, and mixed-use developments
  • Preparing for capital improvements, refinancing, and financial sustainability
  • Forecasting for growth, assessing risk, and implementing systems that support long-term value creation

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, engage in discussion, and learn practical strategies they can apply immediately to their businesses or development projects.


Session Objectives

Participants will:

  • Develop or refine strategies for long-term planning, such as refinancing, capital improvements, and value creation
  • Analyze financial performance by discussing cash flow, equity, revenue, and expenses
  • Develop and undersanding of developing and monitoring KPIs for team and property performance, including occupancy, tenant satisfaction, maintenance response, and employee retention
  • Learn tools for tenant retention, rent collection, and community-focused operations that sustain occupancy and income
  • Understand asset management planning and how it supports financial growth and sustainability

  • Wayne State University Parking Garage – 450 W Palmer Ave, $9 (credit/debit only)
