This artist talk offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from the visual artists whose work explores memory, music, family, legacy, identity, and cultural inheritance through a variety of creative practices.In addition to artist presentations, guests will hear from featured Music Dads and Daughters whose stories helped inspire and shape the exhibition. Through personal reflections and shared memories, these conversations will provide deeper insight into the relationships, songs, and experiences that live at the heart of Baba Juke.Artist and creator Brittini Ward (Eye N Eye the Storyteller) will also share the origins of the project, the journey of collecting oral histories across Detroit, and the role of storyholding as a practice of listening, translation, and return.
