The Yellow Chair Project is an event that will showcase real-life stories told by members of the Des Moines community. Storytelling is so powerful in how it can connect us with each other and ourselves. We hope you can come either as a storyteller or as an audience member.
Just in time for the holidays, the theme for this event will be 'Gifted'. Have you had any particular talents that have had profound impacts on your life? Have you ever been the recipient or beneficiary of a life-changing gift?
If you are interested in sharing a story, please reach out to Tori Luthringer at
dGx1dGhyaW5nZXIgfCBnbWFpbCAhIGNvbQ== to share a draft. Stories should take between 8-10 minutes when shared aloud. All storytellers will have a chance to have their stories workshopped ahead of time through written and verbal feedback. Submissions will be accepted until the first week of November. You do not need to share to attend as an audience member. Afterall, stories are best when they can be told!
Doors will open at 6 pm for anyone who would also like to peruse the beautiful shelves of the neighboring Nos Books, which will remain open throughout the duration of our event.
