- **Event Description**: A serious illness can change the way we experience ourselves and the world around us. Along the way, many people find themselves grieving the life they once knew while also discovering new ways of living with hope, purpose, and presence.

This 4 part workshop offers cancer survivors a compassionate space to reflect on these experiences through guided conversation, journaling, and creative expression. Together, we will explore how grief and gratitude, fear and resilience, loss and hope can exist side by side. Through simple art-making activities, participants will have the opportunity to honor their journey, express what words alone cannot capture, and connect with others in a supportive community.

No artistic experience is necessary. Whether you choose to share your story or simply create in quiet reflection, this workshop invites you to acknowledge what has changed, celebrate what remains, and consider how we continue to live meaningful lives in the presence of grief.

Meet your instructor:
Sage Love is a researcher, writer, death doula, teaching artist, and counseling graduate student whose work centers on suicide loss and living with bipolar II disorder. They serve as the LGBTQ+ Chair for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Iowa Chapter. Sage holds a deep passion for this work that comes from a belief that some of life's most meaningful conversations happen when we make space to acknowledge both our grief and our capacity to keep living. Through creative expression, Sage hopes to help others honor what has changed while discovering what continues to give their lives meaning.

This workshop is free and capped at 15 guests. Please register and attend all 4 sessions.
