- **Event Description**: Last year, Downtown Disciples took the Apartheid-Free Pledge. Now, we are working to deepen our commitment to justice and our solidarity with Palestinian freedom movements. Since we took the pledge, we have grappled with an important question: how do we live into being an Apartheid-Free Community, as we work to live into all of our commitments?

Wednesday nights at 6pm, July 22-September 2, DD member John Noble will lead a study of the Kairos Palestine II document, "A Moment of Truth: Faith in a Time of Genocide." This resource, from the Palestinian Christian Initiative, calls people around the world to "creative resistance — a firm and costly stand against ongoing injustice."

Hoping to deepen your personal commitment, or our collective commitment, to DD's Apartheid-Free pledge? Not even sure what this is about, and wanting to learn more? This conversation is open to all. We’ll gather on Wednesday evenings in Downtown Des Moines for honest conversation, shared learning, and faithful reflection.
