Dancing Akimbo

Before the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kimberly Akimbo takes the stage, join our friend Tony Zika for a high-energy dance fitness class set to iconic ’90s hits. Inspired by the musical’s spirit of joy, individuality, and a little bit of quirk, this class invites movers of all kinds to let loose, try something new, and celebrate being exactly who and how you are.

All are welcome. ’90s-inspired attire encouraged. Join us for this class on the Civic Center Stage!

FREE to all participants. Registration is required.

Mixxedfit is a people-inspired fitness program that combines explosive dance movements with bodyweight toning.

Tony Zika ( https://www.facebook.com/anthony.zika/) has been a MixxedFit Instructor since March of 2018. He teaches regularly at Genesis Health Clubs Southridge and Crunch South Des Moines. You can also find him doing pop up classes throughout Des Moines including Dancing on Cowles Commons in the summer. He believes dancing is a positive form of self-care and self-expression that truly benefits the mind, body and soul.
