Since June of 2025, Ken Scarlette has served as a Regional Security Advisor for the Secure Community Network (SCN), the official safety and security organization of the Jewish community in North America. In this role Ken works in partnership with Jewish Federations throughout Illinois and Iowa, serving more than 11,000 Jewish community members. His responsibilities include training and education on critical topics such as Active Shooter and Stop the Bleed, conducting Threat Vulnerability and Risk Assessments on critical infrastructure and liaising with key law enforcement figures at the local, state and federal level to ensure complete and thorough investigations of antisemitic crimes. Harmon Maples is ADL's Community Engagement Manager for Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. He has been with ADL for three years and is based in Omaha. Harmon has worked in the education and the non-profit world for more than twenty years. Before coming to ADL, he worked at Omaha Public School for more than a decade as a teacher and as an academic support specialist for The Native Indigenous Centered Education Program. He obtained a degree in history from The University of Nebraska at Omaha and a K-12 English as a second language teaching certificate from The University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He is trained in mediation and conflict resolution and also holds an international teaching certificate from Oxford Seminars.
