Iowa City author & professor, Tom Lin, will be Becky Chambers’ conversation partner for the evening! Tom’s debut novel, “The Thousand Crimes of Ming Tsu,” won the 2022 Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction, and his new novel, “Babylon, South Dakota” is getting rave reviews. Tom’s scholarly research also investigates the role of science fiction and popular culture, and we’re eager to hear him chat with Becky.

We cannot wait to hear from Becky about her new love story in space - what she’s calling her most personal story yet. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a “Small Comforts” Cocktail Hour with fellow readers before an author talk with Becky begins at 7 p.m. Tickets include a copy of “As You Wake, Break the Shell.” Additional books will also be available for purchase on-site. Becky will be signing copies after the event (up to three per person).
