April 3rd & April 4th, 2026 GOVERNOR'S PARADE Saturday April, 4th, 2026 Rides ALL across the state of Iowa will come together as a group to Polk County Public Works to parade to Easterseals Iowa & Camp Sunnyside. Polk County Public Works - 5885 NE 14th St, Des Moines, IA 50313 Easterseals Iowa & Camp Sunnyside - 401 NE 66th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313 PARADE ROUTE 2.7 Miles Starting at Polk County Public Works - (5885 NE 14th St, Des Moines, IA 50313) East (left) on NE 58th Ave North (left) on NE Industry Dr West (left)on NE 66th Ave Turn left at Easterseals Camp Sunnyside - (401 NE 66th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313) There is NO DRINKING, NO SMOKING, NO VAPING at Polk County Public Works or Camp Sunnyside. Please be respectful of this as we are guests on their property! Parking is available in main lot at Polk County Public Works. DO NOT park in grassy or gravel areas. It will be taped off and you will be asked to move if you are in one of these areas. Gates open at 12:30 PM. Please be saddled & ready to go by 2PM. Plan ahead if you need to be bussed to camp and come back to ride in the parade. There will be bussing available to and from Camp if you plan to ride in the parade provided by Easterseals Camp Sunnyside. You are responsible for cleaning up after yourself and your horses at BOTH locations. This includes manure as well. So be sure to pack your pooper scoopers in your trailers ? There is no stalls or pens available at Camp Sunnyside. Please keep them in your trailer or tied up securely. Large trailers & trucks will be parking in the main parking lot. All others will be in the back around Lake Cheerio. There will be personnel directing where to go. Food & drinks will be available provided & served by Camp Sunnyside. Saleable items will be available by Rustic Graphic Creations. If something is not available you will be able to order for shipping. Membership table will be available for those needing to renew their yearly memberships or sign up for a Lifetime Membership. As a reminder, those who have annual memberships need to be renewed on Ride Day. Advance tickets to the Victory Dance will be available for $5. Otherwise tickets are $10 if purchased at the door at Lake Robbins. Raffle Tickets for the 2025 Polaris Ranger SP570 Northstar will be available for purchase. The winner will be drawn at the Victory Dance. Money room will be open at NOON at Camp Sunnyside. There will NOT be a money room at Lake Robbins. All money needs to be turned in at Camp Sunnyside. Please try to turn in your monies by check from your local county accounts to help lessen the handling of cash and quicker turnaround time for counting. Checks need to be made to Pony Express Riders of Iowa. We understand that rides & counties collect donations and have road blocks within these 2 days so try to turn in all other county money in check form. You will also turn in your sold/unsold raffle tickets at this location. Easterseals Camp Sunnyside is also hosting Games & an Easter Egg Hunt while waiting for the parade to come. No drinks are to be taken in or out at Lake Robbins! Silent auction will be provided by the Board of Directors 2025 Polaris Ranger SP570 Northstar Raffle tickets will be sold and winner will be drawn during a band break Trailer parking will be available in the back pasture at Lake Robbins. No parking in the gravel parking lot. You will be asked to move if you park there. No hookups available. This is NO additional cost. You are responsible for cleaning up your site including garbage and manure. Camping & Stalls available at Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel 28057 Fairground Rd, Adel, IA 50003 $15 a night per stall including electric. There is a dropbox to put your payment.
