Join us in recognising women's journey to peace by walking across the Peace Bridge for our second annual Reclaim The Night walk this November!
As part of our Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) campaign, we will be celebrating how much we, as a city, have achieved towards ending violence against women and girls, and recognise how much more we need to do as a community to make our city safer for all.
This walk is open to everyone and anyone who wants to show their support.
📅 WHEN: 29th November 2025, 5pm - 6:30pm
📍 MEETING POINT: From 5pm, Ebrington Square
🚶♀️ ROUTE: Depart at 5:30pm, across the Peace Bridge, to the Guildhall Square
🎙️FINAL THOUGHTS: From 6pm, by our guest speakers
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

❗️7/10 women reported experiencing at least some form of violence or abuse in the last 12 months.
❗️50% of those surveyed experienced at least one form of violence or abuse before they were 11 years old.
❗️73% of girls aged 12-17 reported having experienced at least one form of violence in their lifetime.
❗️71% of women experience sexual harassment.
❗️75% of girls experience street harassment.
❗️1 in 2 girls aged 16 have received an unwanted sexual picture.
(Survey by the Excutive Office)
These figures are terrifying and a sure sign that we have a very real problem in Northern Ireland.
Since our first Reclaim The Night event in November 2024, we have seen so much progress in our city towards our goal of ending violence against women and girls but we're still a long way off from seeing those statistics changing.
So ask yourself - if you're not part of the problem, are you part of the solution?
Let’s show that violence has no place in our streets or homes by coming together to reclaim the night!
Bring your friends, and your voices because we need you there!
Thank you to our funder Derry City & Strabane District Council for making our Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Campaign possible.
