“Brilliantly nostalgic even when it was made in 1987, Dirty Dancing's 60s-set coming of age tale ticks all the chick flick boxes. Plain Jane of an outsider growing up fast in a strange new world? Check. Sing-along-a soundtrack that's, actually, rather terrific? Present and correct. One all-encompassing dance-off finale? Oh yes. Add a disapproving father, bitchy sister and a storyline in which our heroine must learn her lifts, lose her 'spaghetti arms' and masquerade as a pro in only a few weeks, and you've got a formula that few movies have matched.” Rachel Simpson BBCi - Films
