Fast, furious and passionate, this concert focuses on the wild and romantic side of classical repertoire. The composer and pianist Franz Liszt was the ultimate rock star of the 19th century concert platform, and his virtuosic and fiery music takes centre stage, along with dances by his Hungarian compatriot Bartók, the famous Liebestod from Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde, topped off by music with a strong Spanish flavour from the great 19th century violin virtuoso, Sarasate.
