Delegates will hear about working with community partners, interpretation and visitor experience, cultural collections care, evaluation, accessibility considerations and approaches to reaching new audiences.This event provides an opportunity to explore how museums and heritage organisations can engage with complex histories, develop community-led interpretation and create spaces for dialogue around collections and their histories.Learning ObjectivesAs a result of attending this event, delegates will:Gain insight into the development and delivery of How Did We Get Here?Explore approaches to working collaboratively with community partners and artistsUnderstand key considerations around visitor journey planning and accessibilityLearn about evaluation methodologies and how feedback has informed the projectDiscuss approaches to the care, interpretation and display of culturally sensitive collectionsReflect on strategies for engaging new and underrepresented audiencesLunch, refreshments and opportunities for networking with colleagues from across the sector will be provided throughout the day.This event supports the Arts Council England Inclusivity and Relevance Investment Principle.Who should attend?This event is aimed at museum and heritage professionals, volunteers, trustees and freelancers interested in exhibition development, community engagement, collections interpretation, audience development and inclusive practice.Maximum two delegates per organisation. Priority will be given to delegates from non-NPO and non-National museums in the Midlands which are Accredited or officially Working Towards Accreditation.Please note: We require you to complete the full booking form in order to confirm your eligibility for the session.
