- **Event Description**: The City of Derby is excited to announce its 20th Annual City Christmas Tree Lighting event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Madison Avenue Central Park, 512 E. Madison Ave. The lighting of the tree will take place at approximately 6:15 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 6 to ensure not missing the short program.

Gather with family and friends and enjoy free cookies, cocoa and kettle corn. Cookies are sponsored by Midwest Dental and cocoa toppings are being provided by Lange Real Estate.  

After the lighting enjoy holiday music and Derby High School band ensembles as you walk around the park and enjoy the lights. You can visit Santa in The Pavilion where we will also be accepting donations for Operation Holiday Derby. Please bring non-perishable food items or new, unwrapped toys. Donations benefit families in the Derby Public School district.  

In The Venue kids can complete a holiday craft and write a letter to a military member serving overseas at the Cards for Troops table.

Food trucks at the event include El Gusto, Shawarma URs, Black Sheep Kettle Corn, Snack Shack & Us and Busy B’s. 

To commemorate the 20th annual event, the City will be giving away 500 holiday ornaments. Visit the City merchandise table inside The Venue lobby to pick up your ornament and browse other City-branded items.
