This course is an introduction into canvas making using wood, workshop tools and canvas fabric.

Led by Workshop Technician and Artist Tayler Fisher, you will finish your own stretched canvas frame and leave with the skills to make more, and bigger, canvases, ready for any painting project, at home or in the workshop. You will make a wooden frame, stretch it with canvas and prime the canvas with glue.

Different canvas frame making options will be shown and discussed, with you learning a manageable technique. You will partake in the whole making process and will use a range of skills such as; measuring wood, creating mitre joints, constructing a frame, cutting canvas fabric, stretching the canvas, handling and painting glue.

Tickets are £65.00. Derby Museums Friends & Members are eligible for 10% discount.
