Come join local ecologist Julie Covey on a walk at The Nature Conservancy’s Chaumont Barrens Preserve to learn about alvar habitat on Saturday, May 31 at 9AM. This walk will take about 2.5 hours to wend its way through barrens, prairie, and woodland habitats. Bring your binoculars, wear your hiking boots, and be aware there could be ticks. Please call the library at 315-649-5454 to register by Friday, May 30th as space is limited. The rain date will be the next day, June 1 at 9AM. Meet us at The Barrens 29924 Van Alystyne Road, Chaumont.
