The Trauma Reflex is a stress response that can develop from injuries, accidents, or one-sided activities like sports, carrying a child on one hip, or using a heavy shoulder bag.
Over time, this reflex causes one side of the waist to stay tighter than the other, pulling the shoulders and pelvis out of balance. This leads to hip pain, uneven posture and an unsteady gait.
In this Somatics class, you’ll learn gentle movements to help your brain reconnect with the waist and hip muscles. By slowly contracting and releasing these muscles, you can reduce chronic tension, improve balance, and move with greater ease.
Learning Objectives:
-Understand how the Trauma Reflex affects posture and balance.
-Improve awareness and control of the waist and hip muscles
Reduce one-sided tension and muscular imbalance
-Support smoother walking and improved stability
