Welcome to Redacted, a book club for the curious, the rebellious, and the well-read. These stories are called “dangerous.” We call them essential. In a world where books are pulled from shelves and voices are silenced, we choose to lean in—exploring the titles some would rather keep hidden and asking why.

Each month, we dive into a challenged or banned work, unpacking the themes of identity, history, power, and humanity that spark controversy. We look beyond the black bars, examine what these stories reveal about our culture, and refuse to let censors have the last word.

We will meet monthly on the first Monday of the month at Fred & June's Books in Denver, NC at 6:30pm.
