Pianist Eric Gunnison and drummer Paul Romaine played integral roles in Joe’s acclaimed Music Beyond Borders jazz education program, serving as primary jazz mentors alongside Joe’s elementary and middle school band programs. Today, Joe and Eric continue their commitment to developing young musicians through the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts (CCJA) program which Paul Romaine oversees. Bassist Gabe Rupe is a proud product of that program, having gone on to study at Juilliard and the Peabody Institute, and is currently pursuing doctoral studies in jazz at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Featured guest Eric “Benny” Bloom and Joe have also developed a close musical friendship, sharing the stage on numerous occasions in recent years. Joe Anderies has been a prominent figure in the Denver and Colorado jazz communities for decades as a flutist, saxophonist, composer, and educator. A pioneer in Denver’s thriving jazz education scene, he has served on the board of the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts. Across all three Dazzle locations, Joe has produced numerous sold-out collaborations featuring both local and internationally renowned artists, including Alex Heffron, Benny Maupin, Larry Coryell, Ron Miles, Gabriel Santiago, Chuck Lamb, Onaje Allan Gumbs, and Shunzo Ohno.
