Intro to Projection Mapping & Animation

Have you ever wanted to bring one of your drawings to life right there on your wall? Ever wondered how they sync visuals to music at concerts? Let your creativity truly SHINE! Learn the basics of 2D Projection Mapping utilizing a protessional AV event software tool called Resolume Arena.

Founder of Kaleido Productions, Adam Johnston, has been designing AV installations and video content for brands throughout the Western United States for over 10 years. In this class, you will learn to navigate the Resolume interface, create custom 2D projection mapping designs on 4K projectors, learn projection mapping and animation techniques and build your own custom animations to be projected on the wall during class. You will create a custom animation based on your own drawing or concepts.

This class is perfect for beginners and anyone wanting to explore the world of animation and projection mapping.

• Skill Level: Beginner - Intermediate
• Students will need to bring their own laptop with Resolume Arena already installed (link will be emailed out 1 week prior to the class starting for download at home)
• Projectors and Cables will be provided for use during class
• We will provide an email link to a downloadable file with your video content 2 days after the class
• Price is per person. A ticket must be purchased for each individual attending the class.

• Class requires a minimum of 4 students and there is a maximum of 8 students. In the event of insufficient enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
• Class will run approximately 4 hours. Please note that the class is hands-on and may run over or under the schedule
• Please plan accordingly and arrive on time!

Meet your Instructor

Adam Johnston is a passionate visionary with a background spanning event marketing to media servers and music video production. Adam has spent years creating immersive visual experiences for major venues, artists, and events. At Brandeis University, he hosted a radio show and began producing live music events. He was selected to work with the Rainbow Company Youth Theater in Las Vegas to build a custom projection mapping design for their performance of Sherlock Holmes. He was officially commended by the city of Las Vegas for his community arts work. He has worked as a video and laser technician at Drais Nightclub, Area 15, and the Artifice in Las Vegas. Since recently moving to Denver, he has worked on many private concerts and events and looks forward to collaborating with local artists to create more immersive art and animation resources throughout the community.

Changes and cancellations... We know life happens, so we try our best to be flexible while being fair to our instructors who purchase supplies and prepare for each class. Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the class. If you need to cancel after 5 days but at least 48 hours in advance, we can offer you a credit for a future class. We cannot offer any refunds or credits for cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled.
