Q: What is Lambada?
A: Lambada is a high-energy, body-connected dance born in Brazil, known for its fluid hip movements, playful rhythms, and magnetic connection between partners. It’s danced to energetic Brazilian music—think tropical beats with a pulse! Lambada has roots in Afro-Brazilian and Caribbean rhythms and is the predecessor to Brazilian Zouk. Whether you’re here for the footwork, the flow, or the fun, this dance will challenge your coordination and reward you with JOY.
✨Q: Lambada is a partner dance—can I come solo?
A: Absolutely! Our classes rotate partners so you’ll get to dance with different people. We also offer solo drills to help you build technique and rhythm.
✨Q: What is the level of the classes?
A: These classes are beginner-friendly and designed to give you a solid foundation in Lambada basics—no experience necessary.
✨Q: Do I have to dance the role traditionally assigned to my gender?
A: Not at all. Everyone gets to choose their preferred role—lead, follow, or both. We welcome dancers of all genders and identities, and encourage role-switching as part of your growth!
✨Q: I'm curious but nervous about dancing so close to someone I don’t know. Will I be comfortable?
A: Lambada does involve close partner connection, but we center consent and communication in every class. You’ll be guided through how to set and respect boundaries—and we always offer modifications for comfort.
