The American Heart Association’s Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED course trains participants to provide CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner in the event of a cardiac arrest. This course will also cover basic first aid for other common medical emergencies & traumatic injuries. Topics include:
-First aid basics
-Medical emergencies
-Injury emergencies
-Environmental emergencies
-Preventing illness and injury
-Adult, child, infant CPR and AED use
-Choking help for an adult child or infant
-Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies
This is an official American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED certification course.
The content of this course reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
NOTE: Upon succesful course completion, students may obtain a course completion/certification card if needed for job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements, for an additional $30 fee, which can be added at registration (please select this add-on when you register). The Heartsaver course completion card is valid for 2 years.
