# Event Details - **Event Name**: 9th Annual AWD/Bobbi Weddle Memorial Volleyball Tournament - **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 14 Aug, 2026 at 05:00 pm – Sat, 15 Aug, 2026 at 11:30 pm - **Event Description**: The 9th Annual AWD/Bobbi Weddle Memorial Volleyball Tournament starts on Friday August 14th and ends on Saturday August 15th at the KofC Sports Complex located at 3144 Blue Rock Road Cincinnati, OH 45239 starting at 5:45 p.m. on Friday night and goes all day on Saturday with the finals scheduled for 8:00pm. The after party will be at the Knotty Pine Rock and Tiki Bar both nights. This is a family friendly event! Big Dogg BBQ Food Truck! The purpose of the fundraiser is to gather funds to donate to a family in need who is suffering from cancer or other debilitating diseases or circumstances. This is the ninth year for the tournament as we will donate proceeds to a local cancer survivor and/or fighter along with a scholarship to Roger Bacon. We will have a DJ, major raffle prizes, 50/50 raffle, kids games, t-shirts and more. The concession stand will be open both days and breakfast on Saturday morning. Our first recipient with a 56-year-old father of four, Jim Wurzelbacher who was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer. Jim had a five-pound tumor removed that surrounded his liver and colon. He has been through chemotherapy, holistic treatments and vitamin-c infusions. He is still going through different tests and scans. It is going to be rough, but with the support of his wife Angela, their kids Caitlin (35), Andrew (34), Danielle (30) and Matthew (23) and his Roger Bacon community, he is up for the challenge. Our second recipient is 33-year-old Krista Roetting who was diagnosed with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma colon cancer. Krista is currently going through chemotherapy with the hope of having surgery later down the road.
