Baritone John Murelle is a versatile singer with a wide range of musical interests, including art song, opera and oratorio, Broadway and popular songs. He holds Vocal Performance degrees from the University of Michigan and the Boston Conservatory, and a Diploma from the Boston University Opera Institute. John Murelle’s keen interest in song literature has earned him accolades as a concert singer. His diverse programs include song cycles of Beethoven, Head, Fauré, Quilter, Ravel, Schubert, Schumann and Vaughan Williams, and highly acclaimed theme recitals including The Way You Look Tonight, The Songs of Jerome Kern, With A Song In My Heart, The Songs of Rodgers and Hart, You’re The Top! The Songs of Cole Porter, Nice Work If You Can Get It, The Songs of George and Ira Gershwin, Let Yourself Go! The Songs of Irving Berlin, La Serenata Italiana- Love songs of Italy, and Cuban Passion, The Songs Of Ernesto Lecuona, If I Loved You, The Great Love Duets with soprano Joan Kirchner. Upcoming performances include, Sea Songs with pianist, Lucy Banner and a program of French Melodie on the poetry of Paul Verlaine with Boston pianist, William Merrill.   In great demand as a voice teacher, John has a private studio in East Sandwich and teaches at the Cape Conservatory in Falmouth.
