Penistone Showground is situated behind the Tesco store in Penistone.


? How to Get There
	•	By car:
From M1 Junction 37, take the A628 (signposted Manchester).
When you reach Penistone traffic lights (The Bridge pub will be in front of you), turn left towards the town centre.
	•	By train:
Trains run to Penistone from Sheffield and Barnsley approximately every two hours on Sundays.


?️ Parking
	•	Parking is available on roads around the showground and in a small car park next to The Paramount Cinema.
	•	Please do not block residents’ access.
	•	Do not park in Tesco’s car park.


☕ Refreshments
	•	There are several cafes in Penistone, some open on Sundays.
	•	Note: Tesco does not have a café.


? Toilets
	•	4 portable toilets will be located on the showground, near the start/finish area.


?️ About the Courses
	•	Courses are mostly grass, with a short section of track near the cemetery.
	•	Grass is generally short, with a few areas of longer grass around points E and G on the course map.
	•	Terrain: Rolling hills, none long or steep — a relatively gentle Penistone course!


? Race Distances
	•	Women and Senior Men 65+: 6,500 metres (≈ 4.0 miles), be ready to race at 12noon. 
	•	Senior Men: 10,000 metres (≈ 6.2 miles), be ready to race at 12.30. 


⚠️ Important Race Rules
	•	You must wear your club vest and have your correct race number pinned to the front.
	•	Failure to do so will result in disqualification and your result will not appear in the official standings.
	•	No headphones or music devices — you must be able to hear marshals and other runners.
